Harpers Hall & Culinary Society Harpers Hall makes its home in the San Francisco South Bay Area and Central California Coast. Our purpose is to promote an appreciation of the folk harp, to cultivate its living musical tradition, and to preserve the fun and magic of the harp for members and for the general public. To that end, we hold numerous events throughout the year, from harp jams to house concerts, festival performances to yearly weekend retreats. Harpsicles The Harpsicle, made by William Rees, is a 26 stringed, small, light harp. It is great for beginners, and I use my maple Harpsicle in the hospital setting because of its small size, light weight (4 lbs.) and light string tension. Harps Etc. Harps Etc. is located in Walnut Creek, and is the main harp resource center in the Bay Area. Harps Etc. has a wide selection of harps for sale and for rent, as well as sheet music and harp assesories. Jessical Siegel, store owner and harp teacher, also offers workshops and classes. Multi-Cultural Music Fellowship and the Festival of Harps The Multi-Cultural Music Fellowship (MCMF) is a CA 501 C3 non-profit, whose mission is to increase appreciation and respect for different cultures through musical communication. MCMF is the sponsor of the Festival of Harps concert series, Mission Harp Ensemble, Bay Area Youth Harp Ensemble, and educational outreach programs, all of which Portia has been involved with over the years (see Biography).
